My 15 business lessons


I've spent 20 years scaling businesses across B2C and B2B from the first global mobile shopping site, through to a leading men's multi-platform brand that became embedded within the cultural zeitgiest, various websites that reached No1. globally & apps that made it to No.1 in iTunes or Amazon. I've scaled EdTech businesses to further investment and exited SaaS brands generating millions of pipeline revenue.


I've had the pleasure of working for some outstanding CEOs & some super talented people across product, marketing, tech and content.


Here are the lessons I learnt from all of them:

  • It is all about leadership. Whatever is at the top comes down.

  • The art of listening is underrated.

  • Treat people as you would like to be treated.

  • You need everyone in some capacity to succeed.

  • Don't fail because you are too scared to do anything.

  • Accept you will fail but learn from it.

  • Learn from everybody & be curious.

  • Thank people.

  • Make tough decisions quickly.

  • Get to the point, succinctly.

  • When you mess up, fess up.

  • Take accountability.

  • Treat your team like the heroes they are.

  • Keep perspective.

  • Be honest and have integrity.

I stand by most of those all of the time. It's important to me that in business you do not lose your sense of self & that you connect with the people around you to grow and drive success.
